2007 Season - Week 7

BUMS Players Hall of Fame

7 owners present over the weekend edited down the shortlist of 2007 Hall of Fame nominees from the 89 players available to 11. Since 2002 we’ve inducted 23 players. And now it’s time to put 4 more players into the Marbled Halls based on 3 criteria; scoring, impact and enjoyment provided.. Attached are the 12 men who have been chosen for nomination. Select your favourite 5 players (in order) and get them back to me by Sunday November 11th , which is the week before Trading Day 2. The 4 highest scorers will join the selected band of BUMS Hall of Fame players. Decent Week With the BUMS mainframe back up and running I’m pleased to be able to note some collective historical success we had earlier in the year. In week 2 we totalled 498 points the sixth highest total ever and the seventh best average of 31.13 points per owner. The best ever was week 11 of 2005 when the 16 owners averaged 32.56 points for a collective total of 521 points helped by 3 owners who made the Hall of Fame:- Andy H with 62 points, Mark B 59 points and Johnny 57. California Nightmare At the other end of the spectrum last week Wayne’s California Dreams was unable to overcome bye weeks for his Coach, Kicker and QB as his outfield players failed to find paydirt and so he visited the Hall of Shame for the second time (his first visit was in week 2 of 2005). However he bounced back well this week just missing the Hall of Fame by 1 point! Also back in week 5 Aaron’s Slough Sharks failed to score and he made his first visit to the Hall of Shame. 10 different owners have now visited the Hall a total of 15 times. 8 owners have never been shamed but Mark H and George have only been in the league about 5 minutes so we will wait to see their fate over time. Honourable mentions go to David S who joined the league in 1998, Dave G and Daz who both joined in 1996 and Andy H, Cheryl and Johnny who were original members in 1995 and who every week manage to get off the schnide. BUMS on Wembley Seats. We are at Wembley on Sunday to see Miami’s Cleo Lemon (Jelly) hand off to Antonio Chatman against the Giants defence. Due to the World Series there is no Sunday Night game but Tuesday we get together to see MNF as NFC North leading Green Bay travel to Denver. Venue to be confirmed depending if there is a Game 5.
